Shrines and Steps

My journey to Japan...12/18/2011...flying over to Japan was long and easy.My seat was in the exit row and there was plenty space of wine to imbibe in to ease the trip...arriving at Osaka airport i was relaxed and happy to soon be w/Noriko and back in the amazing Japanese world. The limosine bus trip was close to an hour due to rush hour traffic but the time was spent w/dozing and the knowledge of my soon to be w/Noriko and finally back in the land of my dreams...Noriko and i went out for pork Ramin noodles and hot O’Sake...we returned to little apartment...unrolled the futon and went fast to sleep.
Waking at 4am w/a bit of jetlag and dry mouth from the wonderful ramin we had for ban-gohan(ばんごはん)...but after a brief stretch and some mizu( みず) i went back to sleep and awoke refreshed at 8:15...breakfast was tea and some donut’s Norichan had purchased...we then walked over to the bike rental shop/grocery store rented one and rode to Kimiidera Buddhist temple...built about 1240 years ago according to a local we met...I checked out the website posted below and discovered the temple was founded in 770 AD by a Chinese monk...We parked and locked our bikes and climbed the 231 plus steps to reach the top of the temple...it happened to be the final day of the Kannon festival and there were lots of visitors milling about...many elderly O’bachan praying and on tour in the area...we went to the huge Kannon pagoda and said some prayers after which we went to the top of the pagoda and enjoyed the view... http://sacredjapan.com/Temple%2002/Temple%2002.htm
